The safety of our passengers and staff has always been our priority. We want your experience to be as comfortable and safe as possible that is why, even in the post-pandemic time, we will continue to use the best safety measures.

Social Distancing

Fortunately at this time social distancing is not required, however we want your experience to be as comfortable and safe as possible, so we will continue with all the safety measures: 

Private Services (Tours & Transfers): your party will be the only one in the vehicle, so the best in terms of comfort, safety and privacy. 

Shared Services (Small Group Tours): all the tours will be arranged using the right size vehicle, and in respect of all the actual rules.

Vehicles Cleaning & Sanitation

Vehicles are cleaned at the end of each service by our professional cleaning team. The products we use follow the regulations settled by the Health Organizations and include the AC system, filters etc. Vehicle interiors are cleaned and disinfected paying special attention to seating areas, armrests and door handles. Vehicle exteriors are hand-washed.

Venues (Wineries, Restaurants, etc.)

All the attractions and venues (museums, restaurants, wineries, etc.) suggested or included on our tours, strictly follow all the safety rules according to the evolution of the situation.

NO Facial Masks

Currently it is not mandatory for guests and staff, to wear a protective mask.

Changes

All the safety rules are subject to changes without notice, according to the evolution of the situation.

Stress Free Booking

We’d like to put your mind at ease about traveling once again, so even in the post-pandemic time, we would like to make sure you feel confident regarding our maximum flexibility. You can change your plans, for whatever reason.

Free date changes

You can change your service date for free.

Credit for future tours

If you don’t know exactly when you’ll be able to travel in the future, convert your existing payments to credit. This way you will not lose your money due to cancellation fees. 

We will keep your money safe and you’ll be able to re-book your tour until December 2024.

Gift or transfer

You can transfer your credit to a friend or family member, at no extra cost.

Cancellation & Refunds

If there is no other option than to cancel, we want to make sure you know we have the most flexible and super friendly cancellation & refund policy in the market: you can cancel for free up to 24 hours prior to your departure time.

Cancellations

You can cancel your booking for free up to 24 hours prior to the departure time. For any cancellations with less than 24 hours notice or no show, no refund will be made. Bookings made within the 24-hour window are final and cannot be amended/canceled.

Simply send us an email at usa@prestigerent.com, or give us a call at +39 055286059. If you booked through a third-party vendor (Viator, TripAdvisor, GetYourGuide, Musement, etc.) you must cancel directly with them, we cannot cancel/refund a booking made/paid to others.

If you don’t know the new date, but you are sure you will travel to Italy in the future, we suggest to covert the paid amount to a credit, to be used for future reservations. You can also transfer your credit to a friend or family member at no extra cost.

Amendments

You can change your tour date for free if there is availability, up to 24 hours prior to the departure time. Bookings made within the 24-hour window are final and cannot be amended/canceled.

Please contact us as soon as possible, so we can do our best to accommodate your request according to our availability.

You must address your amendment request directly to your vendor, because we are not able to amend something you have reserved through others.

Refunds

Yes. If your tour has been cancelled at least 24 hours prior to your tour departure, you will be refunded according to our cancellation policy.

It depends on the banks/credit card company. Our administrative dept processes the refund as soon as we receive the cancellation request.

The amount will be refunded on your credit/debit card or the PayPal/Bank account used for the payment.

You have to directly contact your vendor, because we are not able to manage the payments/refunds for bookings made from another platform (third parties).

Prices

The prices for Private Services (Tours, Transfers, Cruise Port Tours) are per party and vary depending on your party size. On each tour page, you will find a price section (tab) with specified rates.

The prices for Small Group Tours are per person and vary depending on the participant’s age. The default price is per adult,  and decreases for children/youth. On each small group tour page, you will find a price section with specified rates. If during the booking process you do not find an age category (i.e. infant) it is because infants are not allowed on that specific tour.

Our prices for Private Services are per party and vary depending on your party size, this is why you can read “from Euro…”

Our Private Tours/Cruise Port Tours/Transfers Tours include:

Not included (unless booked as an optional, and specified on your confirmation voucher):

  •  Meals, wine tastings and personal customer expenses
 

In order to avoid misunderstandings, make sure what you are buying matches your exact needs. Each tour page clearly specifies what is included and not as well as the available optionals.

Each tour page specifies what is included and not. Being a group tour you cannot customize it, so optionals are not available.

Add an optional to your private experience means to customize it to suit your needs. It could be the entrance fees for the Accademia Gallery, a local guide in Siena, or a wine tasting and lunch at a Tuscan winery, etc. or simply nothing because you like the comfort of a private service, but you prefer to make the other arrangements on your own.

Gratuity

Tips are never included in our prices, because it is not mandatory in Italy. They are very much appreciated by drivers and guides and normally people leave between 10% to 20%.

However, the decision is up to you.

Discounts

We can consider a discount if you book 2 or more tours with us, (e.g. you are on a ship and you book 3 tours from 3 ports of call with us). Please contact us and we will give you our best offer.

The prices for private services (Private Tours, Transfers, Cruise Port Tours) are per party and not per person, so there is no difference if your party includes children/youth. 

As for our Small Group Tours, the price is per person and includes discounts for children and youth. Please check the price section for more details.

In case you are eligible for a discount code, our customer care team will provide it directly to you.

Payment methods

On our website you can pay using PayPal, MasterCard, Visa or Amex. Booking over the phone or chat you can pay via Visa or MasterCard only.

Your payment is 100% secure because the transactions is made directly on the bank/gateway page.

For private services only, you can pay cash (Euro currency), directly to the driver at the end of the day, and at the time of booking, you will be requested to provide your credit card details, just to secure your booking (no charge will be made on it).

Unfortunately, no. In order to avoid misunderstandings/complaints about the exact exchange rate and the commissions, we only accept payments in Euro.

Unfortunately not! The POS (card reader) does not work correctly due to unstable mobile connection, it’s difficult to get the line. In the future, with the upgrading of the mobile connection we will be able to offer this option.

It is totally up to you. If you don’t mind carrying cash, the reason why cash would be better is that, in case of your cancellation, you don’t need to wait to get your money credited back to your card/account.

Availability

We run our private services (Tours, Cruise Port Tours, Transfers, etc.) 365 days a year, according to our availability, which can be checked on our website, or by contacting our customer care center. 

 

As for our Small Group Tours, during the high season they run daily (or twice a day for the half day Wine Experience Tour). The only way to know the exact info is to verify the calendar on the tour page, that shows real-time availability.

To be sure about the availability, advance booking is mandatory.

Thanks to our popularity we receive a lot of requests, so we highly recommend you to book the earliest possible.

Last-minute booking requests are welcome, according to our availability you can check on our website. For last-minute reservations (less than 48 hours), especially for private tours and transfers we highly recommend to give us a call.

Our website shows real time availability, it happens when the specific tour is sold out. In this case you can check alternative dates, or contact us to double check if other guests have cancelled at the last minute.

 

 

Small group tours can be booked until departure time. For private tours/transfers, we have a cut off time of 24/48 hours, because we need time to arrange them. For last minute requests (less than 48 hours), please give us a call and we will do our best to help you out.

Accessibility & wheelchair/scooter users

Private Tours are the most comfortable option for people with walking difficulties. Being private you can move at your own pace with no rush and your driver can drive you almost anywhere. 

 

For people using a wheelchair or an electric scooter, we do not have vehicles equipped with automatic lifts. Please let us know the size and weight of your wheelchair/scooter, so we can make sure that it fits in the trunk of your vehicle, to avoid any unpleasant situations.

Unfortunately not! None of our Small Group Tours can be joined by people with mobility difficulties or wheelchair/scooter users; first because the used vehicles are not equipped with a lift or ramps and last but not least, because being a group tour, in respect of all the participants we have to maintain a standard pace. Surely if you contact us, we can suggest private alternatives to suit your needs.

It is totally up to you, because all our 8 passenger vehicles, have special permits/licenses to circulate almost everywhere (pedestrian areas included), so for those with walking difficulties the driver can arrange an itinerary to see the highlights, directly from the car. The best way to enjoy the historic city centers is by walking.

Our Small Group Tours are designed to have the minimum amount of walking necessary to cover the highlights of the itinerary.

 

Our Wine Experience and our Wine & Food Experience have very limited walking with just a few steps to visit the wine cellars; the Siena & San Gimignano Tour, and the Cinque Terre tour, due to their logistics include bigger walking distances, and being a shared tour, in respect of all the participants, you have to maintain the standard pace of the group.

Weather

Yes. Our tours (Private and Small Group) run rain or shine, please dress appropriately. In the very rare case of extremely bad weather, we must cancel your tour. You will be advised as soon as possible and be offered a suitable alternative or a full refund.

Dress code

Absolutely not. Please keep in mind that if during your tour you want to enter a church, a religious site or a famous attraction (Vatican Museums, Accademia Gallery, Uffizi, etc.) you must have your shoulders and knees, covered.

After the Tour

In case you left something on the vehicle, please give us a call asap, so we can do a search immediately. It is solely your responsibility at the end of the service to check carefully that you have all your belongings with you. We are not responsible for lost items, but we will do our best to find your belongings.

Before Booking

On each tour page, you can find all the details of the service such as tour type, duration, highlights, itinerary, and any additional info; however if you need any help/suggestions we are at your disposal.

Private means just for you, so your party will be the only one in the vehicle, and you can customize all the details of your service, to perfectly suit your needs. As you can imagine, a private service is the top in terms of safety, comfort, flexibility, privacy, etc.

 

A Small Group Tour is a shared tour; you book your spaces, and you go with the other participants. All the details of the service (max group size, departure time/location, itinerary, duration, inclusions, price per person, etc.) are clearly specified on the tour page, and cannot be modified to suit your specific needs.

How to Book

The easiest way is through our website, where you can check the real-time availability and pay on a secure server. If you prefer you can call/chat with our customer care team, we are always at your complete disposal for any further questions.

Whatever is more convenient for you, is good for us, but please keep in mind we are based in Italy and under CET/CEST time.

Once Booked

You should expect to receive an email within minutes from the booking with your confirmation voucher.

Check if our email is in your spam folder and if not, contact us! Please note: during the booking procedure be careful when you enter your email address, the confirmation voucher will automatically be sent to the email provided.

The voucher is a document automatically generated with the info that you filled out during the booking procedure. The first thing to do is to double-check that all the details are correct. If not, please advise us as soon as possible so we can make all the changes needed in order to avoid misunderstandings.

You must contact and clarify the issue directly with your vendor, because we are not able to help you on this.

Booking issues

If during the procedure you encounter an error such as a blank page etc., simply contact us so we can assist you, and complete the reservation.

Once your booking has been successfully received by our system, you will receive, within minutes, the automatic confirmation email, containing your confirmation voucher, with all the details of your purchase.

If you didn’t receive it, something went wrong, so please contact us.

Itineraries (Private Services only)

Absolutely yes! This is one of the biggest advantages of Private Tours. You can customize all the details to suit your specific needs. The itineraries shown on our website are just examples that we have built over 25+ years of experience, to include the highlights and the most requested sites of your chosen trip.

Yes, you can decide your itinerary on the actual day of the tour, as our drivers have a thorough knowledge of sites and can create an itinerary that best suits your needs.

 

You may choose the destination/stops/activities suitable for your trip.
Please note: if you are interested in a specific attraction (museum, restaurant, winery) we highly recommend to ask us in advance to be sure about the availability.

Your driver will be well informed and he/she will be able to give you advice according to your needs.

We are always very flexible, so if you are enjoying your day and you want to extend the duration of your service, adding extra hours, simply ask your driver to confirm the availability and the additional cost.

All of our drivers are fluent in English.

Although our past clients on their reviews called our drivers “guides or driver-guides”, according to the Italian law, all drivers are not allowed to leave their vehicle and walk/enter with clients to/in museums/churches/attractions. If you prefer to add a local guide let us know at the time of booking and we can reserve this service for an additional cost.

How much a guide can enrich your experience depends on the itinerary, and the attractions you would like to see. If you are in doubt, let us know what kind of experience you are looking for and we will give you our opinion.

Fortunately many times we receive requests for a specific driver from friends and relatives of our past clients, Tripadvisor readers, etc. We do our best to assign you the requested driver, but as you can imagine sometimes it is not possible, because there are many things that may change from the moment you book to the day of the tour. Please be reassured that all of our drivers are fully licensed and trained to be friendly, informative and safe.

Our specially selected fleet of luxury air-conditioned vehicles includes Mercedes Sedans, Mercedes Executive sedans, Mercedes vans and Mercedes Minibuses, such us, Mercedes E class, Mercedes S Class, Mercedes V class, Mercedes Sprinter, etc. All our vehicles are perfectly maintained and fully equipped.

We use air conditioned and fully equipped minibuses with free wi-fi on board.

As a general rule we use a Mercedes E class sedan for parties of up to 3 adults (or 4 people including kids), a Mercedes V class Mpv for parties of 4 to 6/7 people and a Mercedes Sprinter for parties of 7/8 people.
On request and at an additional price, the Mercedes E class sedan can be upgraded to a Mercedes S class. For parties of 9 or more people, we will use one of our minibuses/buses according to your party size. More details are on our car fleet page. Please note: according to our availability, you may benefit from a free upgrade, and have a bigger vehicle that has more room than the one you booked.

All our vehicles are fully insured as requested by the Italian law. Vehicles up to 8 passengers have a special license, necessary to drive almost everywhere (pedestrian areas included), like a taxi. In addition to that, being Prestige Rent, a limousine company and a Tour Operator too, our guests are also covered by the special insurance policy for Tour Operators.

Unfortunately not! However for Small Group Tours, most of the rides between places, are shorter than 1 hour. Obviously, you can always request a stop in case of an emergency. As for Private Services, being the only party in the vehicle, you have complete control of the day, including stops for restrooms too.

For Private Services only, we can provide them, however to be sure about the availability, please ask us at the time of the booking along with the details, to choose the right size/model, according to the Italian law.

It is a shared tour, you are with other participants. All the details of the service (max group size, departure time/location, itinerary, duration, inclusions, price per person) are clearly specified on the tour page and cannot be modified.

Our wine tours are led by an English-speaking driver (usually certified sommelier) with extensive knowledge of the Tuscan wine culture/region or by a driver plus a separate expert guide. In both cases at each winery, the tour and tasting will be given by experts.

 

 

Our small group tours to Siena and San Gimignano or the Cinque Terre, usually are led by a licensed tour guide and a separate driver. Occasionally, when the number of participants is less than 9 people, they can be guided by a driver who is also a certified guide.

Yes, your luggage can be stored in the vehicle. Please advise us at the time of booking.

We have 2 small group tours (Wine Experience in Tuscany and Wine & Food Experience in Tuscany) where infants and toddlers are not allowed. 

If you are traveling with infants and you are interested in wine, please check our Private Wine Tours or contact us for suggestions.

Infants can join our Siena, San Gimignano and the Tuscan countryside tour for free. 

Please don’t misunderstand, we are the most kid-friendly company in the world. 

Unfortunately, after a few bad experiences of infants and toddlers crying, we had several different complaints from our guests and we decided to put an age limitation.

Meeting Point/Time

All our small group tours depart from Piazzale Montelungo (Montelungo Square), close to the Florence Santa Maria Novella Train Station (the main station of Florence).

No, it is just a bus terminal with no services. If you need to use the restrooms, take a coffee, etc,  please do it in advance.

Unfortunately, no! There are strict rules about where tour operators are authorized to start/end the tour, so intermediate stops for pick-up/drop-off are prohibited.

In front of the meeting point there is a parking lot. We suggest you arrive beforehand because there could be very bad traffic in Florence and the parking lot could be full and you may need to find an alternative parking.

Group size

Our small group tours run with max 25 participants

Standard group tours run with 60+ people. 

After thousands of interviews with our clients, we discovered that the majority consider that 25 people is the limit to maintain a high level of comfort and quality. Last but not least, you have to consider that most of our competitors run their standard tours with 60+ participants. If you prefer more privacy and flexibility or to customize your itinerary, you can choose one of our private day trips just for you and your party.

If the tour does not reach the minimum number of people to run, (very rare occurance), you’ll be offered a different date, an alternative tour (according to our availability) or a full refund. 

Late Arrivals & No Show

We cannot hold the tour for late arrivals because it would be disrespectful to the other guests. If you need additional info on how to get to the meeting point, contact us in advance, and not at the last minute, as it could be too late. 

If you show up late, don’t show up,  or you can’t find the meeting point for any reason, refunds will NOT be issued.

It’s not possible to join the group after it has started. Arriving at the right check-in time or a few minutes earlier, is the best way to enjoy the experience from the beginning, maintaining the good mood of the group.

We suggest you to meet your driver at 8:00am. You may choose the time you prefer.

That sounds great! Before asking for an earlier pickup time, double-check with your cruise company if you’ll be able to disembark at that specific time. Your ship arrival time and your disembarkation time may differ.

If due to unforeseen circumstances your ship will not show up at the port, no charges will be made. If you have prepaid your tour you will be refunded.

Yes, no penalty will be applied. 

Our super-friendly cancellation policy allows you to cancel your booking for free up to 24 hours prior to departure time.

None of our clients have ever missed the ship, we have been arranging private cruise port tours for over 25 years. 

If you do miss your ship because of us, we will pay for all the expenses, dinner and overnight stay, as well as arranging your transfer to the next port of call.

You could miss the ship for different reasons such as the closure of the road to the port due to an accident, etc., or vehicle breakdown. 

In case of the road closure, the buses of the ship will have the same problem on the highway and the ship will not depart because they will wait until the last bus will come. 

Having a smaller car is easier to find alternative routes than a big bus.

In case of vehicle breakdown, our company uses new Mercedes Benz vehicles, continuously monitored, and maintained. Our tours are very popular so every day we have many vehicles at the Livorno port that could be used as a backup in case of emergency.

The price of a Private Tour offered by the cruise ship company could be up to 3/4 times more expensive than the same tour we offer. 

 

We are 100% sure, if you find a tour from the cruise company that has the same value, itinerary, high quality as us, for an equal or less amount, we will give you the tour for free.

The difference is that with our private tours, you will have approx. 40% more time for sightseeing, compared to a slow-moving big bus tour, with 50+ other guests.
At the beginning and at each stop you have to wait for all the participants, you have to follow an exact itinerary, including sites you are not interested in, you have to consider restroom stops on the highway, longer driving times, bigger walking distances between the places where big buses are allowed to drop you off at the heart of Florence, where the attractions are located.

Second, the price, because if you are a party of 4/6 people, our price for a private service could be even cheaper than the total amount to pay for a big group bus tour.

Last but not least, with our private driver and vehicle, just for your party, you have complete control of your day, and you can customize pick up time, duration, itinerary, etc. and focus just on your interests. You are free to move at your own pace, making it the best in terms of safety, comfort, flexibility, and privacy, and you will maximize your short time ashore.

We offer our service in the most important cities/airports/train stations/ports in Italy. A private transfer is the best as far as safety, comfort, flexibility and privacy.

It is the same as a private transfer, with the addition of a stop en route for sightseeing/shopping/tasting/etc. This way you have the chance to maximize your time here in Italy, with an excellent level of safety, comfort, flexibility, privacy, etc., you can get only with a private service.

From the most important Italian Airports, Train Station, Ports and cities, such us Florence (& Tuscany), Rome, Naples (Amalfi Coast), Milan, Venice, etc. If you don’t see your destination, please get in touch, because being Private Tours we can arrange it according to your needs.

Different airport/train stations/ports have different meeting points, so you will find the exact directions on your confirmation email/voucher.

Just to give you an idea, below you can find a general rule of where to meet your driver, depending on your pick up place:

Hotel – in the lobby

Private Apartment – close to the main door, in the street

Airport – after customs, where you exit from the gate to enter the public lounge

Train Station – each train station has its meeting point, clearly specified on your voucher

Port – close to the ship gangway, it all depends on where you dock

For airports/stations/ports pick up, your driver will be holding a sign with your name on it.

Luggage

Normally we assign a vehicle considering each passenger will have one suitcase and one small carry-on. Please let us know in advance the amount of luggage you will be carrying, to be sure they fit into the assigned vehicle. We are not responsible for excess luggage unless you’ve specified it at the time of reservation.

Please specify it at the time of reservation, so we can check the availability of the right size vehicle.

If you bring anything that is not a standard suitcase/carry-on/handbag, you must specify it when you reserve, so we can give you the proper vehicle.

Unfortunately, there is no correct answer to this question. The tourist season normally starts from April to October (with a slight decline in August due to the hot temperature) but it depends on you and your own interests.

 

If you like the beach, August could be the best time for you. If you are interested in wine, it would be better to come in the middle of September beginning of October because that is the harvest time. 

During Christmas, it could be perfect if you like cold temperatures and would like to avoid the large crowds.

In other words, it all depends on what you prefer. When you book a private tour you decide all the details.

With no intermediaries, you communicate directly with us so if you need to make any changes, it would be much simpler and faster.

Yes, we are an Italian company. The main office is located in Florence Italy, and we have vehicles/drivers in the most important locations in Italy.

Our private services are offered in/from the main locations (cities, ports, airports, stations) in Italy. 

For example, Florence and Tuscany, Livorno Port, La Spezia Port, Civitavecchia Port, Naples Port, etc.

Our small group tours depart only from Florence.

Yes, we are. Prestige Rent is a Licensed Tour Operator & Travel Agency, authorized by the Italian chamber of commerce – REA FI 571489 – VAT 05745220482.

 

We are also a Transportation company and all of our vehicles and drivers are fully insured and have licenses and permits required by the Italian Law.

If you have a last minute problem on your trip (i.e. cancelled flight, delay, etc.) and need immediate assistance, on your confirmation voucher you will find our emergency contact numbers, available 24/24 hours.

We are based in Italy so between you and us there could be a time gap. 

Please don’t use our emergency numbers to call us just to ask about the weather in Italy, how to dress, etc., because due to the different time zones, it may be 3:00am in Italy!

Find a service

Using the main menu you can search for the service you are interested in two different ways. Browsing by the type of service (Small Group Tours, Private Tours, Cruise Port Tours, Transfers, etc.), then selecting the location (the departure place from where you want to use the service) of your interest.

 Or vice-versa, selecting your destination and then the service type you are looking for.

Simply click on the Small Group Tours and select the one that you prefer. Or click on Destinations, Florence & Tuscany and Small Group Tours. 

Please note: since we only offer Small Group Tours from Florence, the easiest way to reach the tours is by clicking directly on the Small Group Tours link.

During your stay in Rome, if you’d like to book a Private Tour of Pompei and the Amalfi Coast for example, you can click on “Private Tours”, then select your destination (Rome) and the “Private Tour of Pompei and Amalfi Coast”.

Same result is if you click on “Destinations”, “Rome”, “Private Tours” and then “Pompei and the Amalfi Coast”.

Your cruise ship will dock at Livorno Port and you want to book a Cruise Port Tour to visit Florence and Pisa. 

You can click on “Cruise Port Tours, then select your destination (that is Livorno Port) and from the page with all the tours from Livorno Port, select the one to Florence and Pisa. 

The same result can be reached starting with “Destinations, then Livorno Port and then the tour of your interest.

From “Transfers” you can access “Direct Transfers” (point A to point B) and “Transfer Tours” (point A to point B with a stop en route). 

Let’s just say you want to book a Transfer Tour between Florence and Rome (or Rome to Florence) with a stop in Siena. You can click on “Transfers”, “Transfer Tours”, then “Florence to Rome” and select the one with the stop in Siena.

Please note: Transfers or Transfer Tours have the same itinerary; either you start from point A to arrive at B or vice versa.
