Itinerary

Explore Tuscany in one day

See the highlights of Siena, walk through the narrow streets of San Gimignano, admire the beautiful Tuscan landscape and conclude your day with a picture of the famous Leaning Tower of Pisa. Meet your professional English-speaking driver and start your adventure into Tuscan beauties at your own pace and with maximum comfort you can only get with a private door-to-door service.

SIENA

The first stop of your private day trip from Florence is Siena. A beautiful city made of brown Siena-colored bricks, that’s how they named the color!

A jumble of narrow streets and delightful squares, medieval towers that make such a spectacular skyline, its spectacular cathedral, the tall and trim Torre del Mangia.
Get lost in this enticing atmosphere almost like stepping back in time.

Piazza del Campo

Despite the city’s architectural masterpieces, it is the unusual shell-shaped Piazza del Campo that receives the most consideration having been seen in numerous films and photographs.
Walk around this brick-covered square that twice a year hosts the famous ‘Palio’ horserace. Thee entire population is involved and is considered one of the most important events in the life of the Senese people.

SAN GIMIGNANO

Continue your private day in San Gimignano, a small medieval town in Tuscany famous for its splendid skyline made up of 13 towers!
This hilltop 11th-century town is located along the ancient ‘Via Francigena’ road on which traders and pilgrims traveled to Rome.
Admire the remaining 13 towers (once about 72!), visit the Duomo and its magnificent frescoes, ‘Palazzo del Popolo’ and ‘Palazzo Nuovo del Podestà’ today the town hall.

Culture and Vernaccia wine

Explore the church dedicated to Saint Augustine, the Museum of Holy Relics and the infamous Museum of Torture with its macabre displays of early torture instruments.
Just wander down the main street in San Gimignano and go in and out of the numerous specialty artisan shops.

The ceramics are beautiful here and there are also places for buying leather goods and linens. Then relax while tasting the famous vernaccia wine typical from here!

TUSCAN COUNTRYSIDE

Your trip continues with a ride through amazing Tuscan landscapes with views on gentle slopes, vineyards and olive trees until you reach Pisa.

PISA

The remote origins of Pisa and its name are lost in myth and legend. What is for certain, this city had Eneolithic settlements and between the 6th and 3rd centuries B.C. the presence of the Etruscans. Pisa was later Romanized and during the time of Octavianus Augustus in the 1st century B.C. it became a colony of Rome.

Meanwhile the population was growing along with the development of shipbuilding and trade, thanks also to its harbor. The city expanded rapidly and soon Pisa was surrounded by a circle of defensive walls.

Leaning Tower in Piazza dei Miracoli

The building of the Pisa cathedral began in 1062. The cathedral and baptistery, the tower of Pisa and Campo Santo or cemetery form one of the most beautiful and famous building groups in the world. ‘Piazza dei Miracoli’ or ‘Campo dei Miracoli’ makes a perfect showplace for these exquisite examples of Romanesque architecture.

Today, the Leaning Tower of Pisa has become a symbol for the Italian Republic and after intense restoration has finally opened to visitors.

At the end of your tour of Tuscany in one day, relax and enjoy a comfortable drive to your accommodation in Florence.
