Enjoy a private tour from Florence, visit the maritime city of Pisa with its incredible Leaning Tower. Then explore Lucca, the most famous walled city and have a unique Wall bike tour!
The remote origins of Pisa and its name are lost in myth and legend. It has Eneolithic settlements and the presence of the Etruscans between the 6th and 3rd centuries B.C.
The beautiful tower does lean and is worth the climb: nearly 300 stairs made of marble! Enjoy the panorama over mountains, Arno river and during sunny days even on the sea.
Then look down and admire the impressive views over the Duomo and Baptistery from the top. The Leaning Tower of Pisa has become a symbol for the entire Italian Republic.
Closed for many years, has finally reopened to visitors after intense restoration!
The Leaning Tower is located in the majestic Piazza dei Miracoli, which makes a perfect showplace for these exquisite examples of Romanesque architecture.
The works for building Pisa Cathedral began in 1062. The Cathedral and Baptistery, the Tower of Pisa and the Campo Santo form together one of the most beautiful and famous building groups in the world.
The University of Pisa was founded in 1343 and is one of the most ancient universities in whole Europe and among the most prestigious in Italy.
Pisa is also the birthplace of Galileo Galilei and here he was first student and then professor of Mathematics in 1589.
Take a walk along the Arno River that flows and splits the city of Pisa as well as Florence.
Wonder through the ‘Lungarno’, along the river enjoying an artisan gelato from the many gelaterias and admire the different earth-colored imposing palaces along the banks of the river.
Explore ancient Lucca, one of the most famous and glorious walled cities in Italy. Founded by the Etruscans, ancient people who lived up until 3000 years ago, Lucca has even more remote origins. In 180 BC, the town became a Roman colony and from that period has maintained the rectangular grid of its Roman street plan. Piazza San Michele occupies the site of the ancient Roman forum.
Lucca is a rather small town with many interesting places to visit – the Romanesque cathedral of San Martino, the church of San Michele, the Basilica of San Frediano with its exquisite mosaics and the birthplace of the famous composer Puccini whose house is now a small museum.
The wide medieval walls had once defensive purposes while today locals use them for walking and biking. Have the most unique experience: rent bikes and have a wall bike tour along the city’s ancient walls!
At the end of your private tour to Pisa and Lucca, relax and enjoy a comfortable ride to your accommodation in Florence.
