Visit the first winery with wine tasting
Driving south through the Tuscan countryside, reach the first wine estate and start learning about the winemaking process. Visit the farm, and satisfy your curiosity. After the visit, it’s time for a wine tasting to verify your new learning!

 

Stop in Greve in Chianti
After a short drive, reach Greve in Chianti, the most representative village of Chianti Classico countryside. The birthplace of the Tuscan explorer Giovanni da Verrazzano, the first European to reach the New York Harbor. Enjoy your free time admiring the picturesque main square with local boutiques under graceful ancient porticoes.

 

Visit the second winery with wine tasting and lunch
Driving through idyllic scenarios, along one of the most panoramic wine roads in the world that winds between olive groves and vines, reach the second hilltop winery where a wine expert is waiting for you to share knowledge and passion about wine, with the facts and anecdotes behind their estate. Surrounded by rolling hills with vines and olive trees, start the guided tour and learn the secrets behind great wines. Enjoy wine paired with local food and better understand the real countryside hospitality.
Taste typical assorted cold cuts, cured ham, salami, pecorino cheeses, bruschetta, pasta (usually handmade) and dessert accompanied by the winery’s excellent wines. Nothing’s rushed so take your time to relax and enjoy.

 

Visit the third winery with wine tasting
Last stop to complete your local wine experience enriching your knowledge about Tuscan traditions! Discover the estate and their wine and olive oil, enjoy the most amazing views over the countryside. This stop is a great chance to complete your overview of Tuscan wines.

Where is the meeting point located?
The meeting point adress is Piazzale Montelungo (Montelungo Square). Approx 8 minutes by walk from the Florence Santa Maria Novella Train Station. Detailed directions on your confirmation voucher.

 

 

What is the meeting time?
8:45am.
IMPORTANT: we cannot hold the tour for late arrivals. If you need more info, please contact us in advance.
Don’t wait until the day of the tour at the last second, as it could be too late to arrive on time and join the tour.

 

 

How long is the tour?
This tour takes about 8 hours. However, we cannot guarantee the exact return time.
If you book other activities after the tour, allow plenty of time.

 

 

How can I recognize my tour at the meeting point?
Look for a red flag/checkin table, with Prestige Rent logo. If you arrive in advance (good idea!) and you cannot recognize the guide, do not panic! Your guide will be there at check-in time.

 

 

How many wineries are we going to visit?
We will visit 3 of Tuscany’s finest wineries: San Michele a Torri, Casa Emma, and Villa Poggio Torselli. However, in case of special events, temporary winery closures or unforeseeable circumstances, we will visit comparable premium wineries.

 

 

Are wine tastings included?
Yes, all wine tasting fees at the 3 winery stops are included on this tour. The second stop also includes a typical Tuscan light lunch paired with different wines.

 

 

Do we taste white wines?
The tour includes 3 different wineries located in the Chianti Classico area, famous for red wines primarily made with Sangiovese grapes. Sometimes, as a plus depending on the time of the year, production, etc, you may have the chance to also taste some rosé or white wine (not guaranteed).

 

 

Are meals included?
The tour includes a genuine Tuscan light lunch with a tasting of different wines and other typical products.

 

 

Do we visit any village in the countryside?
You will have a brief stop in Greve in Chianti, the most representative village of the Chianti Classico countryside.

 

 

It’s raining, is my tour still running?
Yes. Our tours run rain or shine, please dress appropriately.

 

 

Are there restrooms on board the vehicle?
Our vehicles do not have any restroom facilities. However, the longest ride takes approx. 45 mins and of course, at each stop you’ll have the chance to use the restroom.

 

 

What is the average temperature in the wine country?
The weather varies depending on the season and it can be very hot during the summer months (June, July, August; September) and cold during the winter (December, January, February).

 

 

What should I wear?
Since the weather could be very hot but wine cellars are kept cold, we highly recommend layered clothing and comfortable shoes.

 

 

What should I bring?
– Money or credit card if you want to buy/ship extra wine, olive oil, etc.
– Bottle of water
– Hat and sunscreen (during summer months)
– Warm clothes and a waterproof jacket (during winter months)
– All you think is necessary according to forecast

 

 

Can I bring my luggage on the tour?
Yes, your luggage can be stored in the vehicle, but please advise us at the time of booking.

 

 

Can I buy/ship wine/olive oil?
Yes. You can buy a few bottles or a larger quantity to ship home. Make sure you know your country’s rules for taking wine back home – every country has different rules.

 

 

Can I join the tour with an infant/child younger than 12?
Unfortunately, no. We love infants and toddlers however, we decided to limit the minimum age of the participants to 12 years old.
