Driving up the beautiful Viale dei Colli in Florence, reach the marvelous Piazzale Michelangelo, a hilltop terrace named after the artist who sculpted the original David statue, the symbol of Florence. Fill your eyes with the most impressive view of the city.

San Miniato church and the Medici’s fortress

Nearby, see the white and green marble façade of S. Miniato al Monte church, one of the purest examples of the Florentine Romanesque style. Leave the church and follow an uphill road bordered by the ancient city walls until we reach Forte Belvedere, an imposing fortress built around 1590 by the Grand-duke Ferdinand to protect the Medici family villas.

Pass the Roman gate and reach Santa Croce

Driving down from the Fort pass the old Roman Gate, the ancient gate to the city and get to Santa Croce Square. Here is located the imposing Basilica, burial place of Italian illustrious like Michelangelo, Machiavelli, Galileo, etc.

The around the square area and nearby streets are the most important leather district in Florence, full of famous leather shops.

Breath ancient art and history

Reach the very heart of Florence in Piazza della Repubblica, surrounded by historical literary cafés where important artists and intellectuals used to gather.

From this central hub, reach by walk all the other attractions: Piazza del Duomo (S. Maria del Fiore-Cathedral, the Baptistery, Giotto’s Belltower), Piazza Signoria (Palazzo Vecchio-Town Hall, Uffizi Gallery, etc.), the elegant Ponte Vecchio meaning ‘old bridge’ home to famous gold and jewelry artisan vendors.

Your driver remains at your complete disposal in case you want to reach a specific place of interest. Get the chance to admire the most refined masterpieces of Renaissance art dive into the magical atmosphere only Florence can offer.

Shopping lovers or hungry souls

There are plenty of artisan shops and ‘trattoria’ to dive into, so everyone in your group can satisfy their desires whether it be a smart leather jacket, or a scrumptious plate of pasta!

The most important street for shopping is Via De’ Tornabuoni with designer boutiques like Prada, Gucci, Armani, Ferragamo, Valentino, Vuitton, Damiani, Cartier, Trussardi, Versace, Tiffany, YSL, Zegna, Tod’s, etc. You can also see what the local craftsmen have to offer or practice your bargaining skills at the San Lorenzo outdoor market.

I’ve booked my private tour to Florence from La Spezia Port for 8:00am, can I change the pickup time on the same day of the tour?
Unfortunately, no! For security reasons, the day before the tour we must send to the port authority the list of all our vehicles entering the port, specifying the entrance time to the restricted area close to the ship, etc. This cannot be modified on the day, at the last minute.

Can I customize the itinerary of my private tour to Florence from La Spezia Port?
Yes, you can! You can customize all the details (pick-up time, stops, duration).
If you don’t find the right service on our proposal, please let us know your particular interests and we’ll do our best to give a personal touch to your trip.

Can we reserve a local guide directly on-site, on the day?
Unfortunately, no! If you want to add this optional service you must book it at the time of reservation or at least a few days in advance.

I’d like to visit the Accademia Museum or the Uffizi Gallery, do I need to pre-purchase the entrance fees?
Absolutely yes! First, because it is the only way to be sure about the availability and secondly, being timed entrance fees you can arrange your day to maximize your short time ashore.

Can you prepurchase the timed entrance fees for us?
Yes, we can! This is not our main business but we offer this service to our clients through our partners.

If you prefer, you can buy the tickets on your own for the Accademia Museum and Uffizi Gallery. Please pay attention to the time you choose and be sure it is feasible with the tour schedule. For any doubt simply ask us.

May I visit both attractions (Accademia Museum and the Uffizi Gallery) in Florence?
Normally and especially for the first-time visitors, due to the short time ashore, we highly recommend choosing one of the 2 attractions, so you can use the balance of the time to see other highlights of Florence.

However, just to help you plan your day, from our experience people spend 45 mins/1 hour at Accademia Museum where the main attraction is the David by Michelangelo, and at least 2/3 hours at Uffizi Gallery.

Is the private tour to Florence from La Spezia Port, accessible for people with disability?
Yes, it is! We can accommodate people with reduced mobility and foldable wheelchair/scooters users.
Please note: it is mandatory to specify each specific need at the time of booking and in case of wheelchair/scooters, the exact dimensions to be sure they can fit in the trunk of the vehicle.

How much walking is involved in the private tour to Florence from La Spezia Port?
It is totally up to you! Our vehicles have special permits/licenses to circulate almost everywhere (pedestrian areas included).
Therefore, for people with walking difficulties for example in Florence, we can drop you off right in front of the Cathedral or directly in Piazza della Repubblica.
The best way to enjoy the historic city centers is by walking, being a private service you are free to decide your own pace with no rush.
